The Journey
A gem-country deep-dive paired with the famed southern coast — Ratnapura's sapphire mines, then Galle Fort and the Handunugoda tea estate.
Drive inland to Ratnapura, the historic centre of Sri Lanka's blue-sapphire trade, for a mine and market tour. Then follow the southern coastline through Bentota and Hikkaduwa to Galle for the Dutch fort, the stilt fishermen, and a Handunugoda tea-estate visit.

Day 2
Ratnapura → Bentota
Tour the gem-mining areas, visit a local gem market, then drive 2.5 hours to Bentota for an afternoon on the beach. Overnight at NH Bentota Hotel.
Day 3
Bentota → Galle
Visit a turtle hatchery, a Madu River boat safari, the Meetiyagoda Moonstone Mine and continue to Galle. Overnight at 18 Faces Boutique Hotel.
Day 4
Galle → Colombo
Handunugoda tea-estate visit, the stilt fishermen, Galle Fort walking tour, and a 2-hour drive to Colombo airport for departure.
